Star Wars is non-existent on the big screen. But it is thriving on the smaller one. Fans are loving shows like The Book of Boba Fett and Obi-Wan Kenobi, while eagerly waiting for the Ahsoka Tano one. But there’s one series that takes the crown and it’s The Mandalorian.
For two seasons now, the show has entertained viewers, and everyone is waiting for season 3. Thankfully, the wait is over since the premiere date of season 3 of The Mandalorian has been reportedly revealed.
The Mandalorian Season 3 Premiere Date
The Mandalorian seasons 1 and 2 set viewership records on Disney+. Season 1 set up the world and characters of Din Djarin and Grogu, and season 2 tied it with the expanded Star Wars universe. We saw Luke Skywalker and Ahsoka Tano show up, and Luke even trained Grogu!
After the season 2 finale saw Din Djarin and Grogu flying together on a ship to an unknown place, fans can’t wait to know where exactly they are heading. And luckily, they won’t have to wait long as the premiere date of season 2 of The Mandalorian has been revealed.
As per Making Star Wars, season 3 of The Mandalorian will begin on February 22, 2023, on Disney+. If it remains an eight-episode season, as the previous ones have been, then the finale should be on April 12, 2023.
The Mandalorian Season 3 And The Bad Batch Season 2 Will Clash
If this report is true, then it will clash with season 2 of The Bad Batch premiering on January 4, 2023. Bad Batch will begin with a two-episode premiere before moving to the weekly schedule of releasing one episode. With 16 episodes in its second season, The Bad Batch will meet The Mandalorian at about its eight-week mark. As a result, both shows will have their season finale on April 12, 2022.
The premiere date of The Mandalorian could always change since nothing can be confirmed unless official sources reveal it. But Disney airing both high-profile Star Wars shows side by side might not be that weird. After all, Tales of the Jedi premiered right when Andor was airing.
It remains to be seen if The Mandalorian sticks to its release date or moves to a new one.
