The MCU’s Doctor Doom Plans “Accidently” Leaked

It seems that Howard Stern and a sizzling microphone can penetrate any level of secrecy at Marvel. When your radio show goes on hiatus for the summer, it’s only normal to want to spend your time relaxing at the beach, reading a good book, and maybe even auditioning for the role of The MCU’s Doctor Doom in the Fantastic Four movie sequels.

Thankfully, it seems that this is how Howard Stern intends to spend his summer. Providing, of course, that it is really taking place. The verdict is still being deliberated. It seems that renowned radio and TV broadcaster Howard Stern leaked information about an upcoming Marvel Studios film when his microphone was left on by mistake during an ad break (a phenomenon known in the broadcasting business as a “hot mic”). Here’s what Stern said while in conversation with co-host Robin Quivers:

“I told you I’m gonna do Doctor Doom. That’s the thing. But, believe me, I’m f*****g miserable about it… because I’m an a*****e. That’s what I did on America’s Got Talent.”

This is as real as it gets. To make it a little more believable, Howard went on to state that he called Robert Downey Jr. asking for some acting tips:

“I called Robert Downey Jr. [and] I was asking him acting techniques. Gary [Dell’Abate, radio producer], do you have the number for [Iron Man director] Jon Favreau?”

It’s no surprise why Stern’s The MCU’s Doctor Doom remarks wouldn’t cause a stir online. In any case, Dr. Doom is riding high in popularity. The moment has come for the infamous villain Victor Von Doom to debut in a Marvel Cinematic Universe production.

After Disney purchased Fox, Marvel Studios gained control of the rights to the character and the X-Men and Fantastic Four and introduced characters from those franchises into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Since Kang the Conqueror will be making his first appearance in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, this is hugely relevant. In addition to Kang’s cosmic destruction, Doctor Doom’s presence on Earth would be a fascinating additional menace.

I suppose we won’t know everything until next month’s San Diego Comic-Con. With Phase 4 drawing to a close, Marvel Studios’ next great story, hinted by Kevin Feige, is expected to be announced in the coming months. Until then, fans should sit tight for any update from Marvel Studios’ chief himself or a clever trailer from either Marvel or Disney+.
