The wildly popular fantasy series on Netflix is based on the work of Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. The series follows titular mutant Geralt as he journeys the Continent while he slays dangerous monsters for coins. After meeting Yennefer, Geralt’s path crossed with his Child of Surprise Ciri in Season 1. Here is where they became fast friends. The first season of the show was based on Sapkowski’s The Last Wish. Similarly, Season 2 will be based on Sapkowski’s Blood of Elves.
Kaer Morhen, where the School of Wolf is training Geralt and Ciri, will be a major focus this season. There have been several casting announcements for the second season. These include Geralt’s mentor, Vesemir, fellow witcher Lambert, and the elven sorcerer Francesca Findabair. Outside of Kaer Morhen, Nilfgaardian forces are holding Yennefer (who Geralt believes is dead). Meanwhile, they also continue to search for Ciri via the evil mage Rience. For valid reasons, they believe Ciri is still alive. Because of this, the series and Geralt’s profession necessitate him being on the lookout for new creatures.

To remind fans that the Continent’s greatest threat is the monsters that plague it, The Witcher’s official Twitter account recently posted a clip from season 2. Geralt uses a Quen sign as a shield and a magical sword against the Myriapod, an entirely new enemy in the series.
Giant centipede-like creatures, myriapods are the name given to these unusual creatures. As they were first introduced in Sword of Destiny, it eventually preceded The Last Wish by Sapkowski. During a battle in Brokilon Forest, Geralt and Braenn come face to face with Ciri. A myriapod is attacking the latter in the short story “Sword of Destiny.” The above scene is likely to reference the Sword of Destiny scene that didn’t make it into the first season of the show. Like the centipedes from The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – Blood and Wine, Myriapods may also be recognized by fans of CD Projekt Red’s video games.
New monsters and threats have been introduced in the latest The Witcher season 2 clip. This suggests that the show is ramping up its action. There’s a long and treacherous road ahead of Geralt and Ciri before they can reach Kaer Morhen’s safety. “The Witcher Trail,” aka “The Killer,” is full of mages and priests who are out to eliminate anyone. Season 2 of episode 3 will be available to stream on Netflix on December 17th. This includes a possible showdown between Geralt and the myriapods.
