Finally, the shoot of Season 2 of The Witcher wrapped up. After an untimely interruption of The Pandemic and several health concerns of the cast– including the hamstring injury of the lead actor Henry Cavill, the production of the series wrapped up.
Though there is no official word for the story plot for season two, many speculate it’s on the book “Blood Of Elves.” Rumors are rife that the season also involves flashbacks of Geralt’s younger self and Vesemir.
As per the Redanian Intelligence, Alexander Squires will be playing the role of young Geralt, and actor James Baxter will be starred as Vesemir. Current versions Geralt of Rivia and Vesemir are played by superman’s fame Henry Cavill and actor Kim Bodnia. Though the actor Tristan Ruggeri played the role of young Geralt in season 1, this season would show adolescent Geralt and subsequently a new cast.
As the eight-episode season of the Witcher became one of the biggest Netflix shows of 2019, the season got renewal announcement came pretty quick. Netflix wants to establish the Witcher as one of their cult series. Season 2 will deal with Geralt of Rivia’s tutelage with master Vesemir– the wisest and one of the most potent Witcher of all time. The story will come full circle when Ciri trains as a witcher in Geralt’s childhood house back in Kaer Mohen.
The necromancer Yennifer, Princess Ciri, and bard Jaskier has been reprised by Anya Chalotra, Freya Allan, and Joey Batey. The Witcher’s season 2 will include new actors, including Kim Bodnia as Vesemir, Yasen Atour as Coen, Agnes Bjorn as Vereena, Paul Bullion as Lambert, Basil Eidenbenz as Eskel, Aisha Fabienne Ross as Lydia, Kristofer Hivju as Nivellen, Media Simson as Francesca.
While the fans are eagerly waiting for the announcement of the release date for season 2, it is anticipated to come at the end of this year or early next year.
