The Witcher Season 2 continues its triumphant run on Netflix since its premiere last December. The hit fantasy series is an adaptation of Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski’s series of novels and short stories. As well as the popular video games developed by CD Projekt Red. As the first English TV adaptation of the franchise, The Witcher has earned a huge army of devoted fans. And they more than look forward to all sorts of content falling under The Witcher universe.

Even before the network released the second installment, Netflix greenlit the franchise for a third season. Although, there confirms regarding the actual start of the shoot. As per the report published on January 6, the filming was supposed to begin this month. But as of now, there is nothing that suggests the same. Be that as it would, the network might start filming soon enough.

To add to the anticipation, The Witcher showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich recently revealed how the third season will be “huge”. Now, it is difficult to stick with only one implication of the word “huge”. The tease is hinting but subjective. It doesn’t help that it’s all Hissrich had to say about the upcoming chapter for now.

An invested Witcher fan recently got on Twitter and asked Hissrich about the expanse of the budget for Season 3 in correlation to the other seasons. In response, Hissrich cleverly maneuvered the conversation towards teasing the season and revealed how it would be “huge”. Which is still not a lot to go on with.

However, based on our speculations, this is what we figure. Hissrich’s sneak peek might point towards the third season’s greater objectives. And this is probably with respect to the overall scale of production. That said, nothing is official as of yet.

Moreover, if The Witcher showrunner makes any more revelations regarding Season 3, we will know for sure what she meant by it being “huge”.

The Witcher Season 1 and The Witcher Season 2 are available to stream exclusively on Netflix.
