It goes without saying that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has a long way to go before it touches the grandiosity that Spider-Man: No Way Home offered. However, the anticipation around the film still gives fans a lot to speculate about. Especially because it deals with the Multiverse. The Doctor Strange sequel will bring back Benedict Cumberbatch’s Strange, Elizabeth Olsen’s Wanda Maximoff, and Benedict Wong’s Sorcerer Supreme as the three powerful heroes team up to stop reality from collapsing.

All the teasers revealed so far have given fans enough to base their curious theories on. Starting with Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, it looks as if she is in trouble. As for Doctor Strange, or maybe a Variant of his, has somehow turned into a zombie. Not to forget, the film gave us an interesting hint of the return of Patrick Stewart, who was last seen as Professor X in Logan.

Pairing up with the spectacular team of heroes is Xochitl Gomez’s America Chavez. According to the latest updates, it is likely that she belongs to a different universe. And the fact that she possesses the ability to transport herself between multiple realities is at the root of this chaos.

The question is, how did America Chavez find herself in the Marvel Cinematic Universe? While the speculations surrounding that topic are vague, it is possible that she was transported into Strange’s universe at the same time as being held captive by a mysterious creature. This was evident in the recent trailer.

We have noticed a correlation between this argument and a certain scene from Avengers: Infinity War.

Infinity War Answers A Strange Villain Question

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness’ recent trailer highlights Xochitl Gomez as she tries to free herself from a mysterious and terrifying creature.

However, there is a blink-and-you-miss-it detail that answers the question, leaving us stunned.

Let us reflect on a particular moment from Avengers: Infinity War. Benedict Cumberbatch’s Doctor Strange takes the help of an iconic weapon to keep Thanos from closing his fist. It is the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak.

Looking closely, there is a striking resemblance between the two visuals. So, is it possible that the mysterious creature is Cyttorak himself?

Marvel Comics showcases Cyttorak as a supernatural deity who owns immensely grand magical powers. While some consider him to be God, others fear his menacing abilities. Cyttorak is a being with fearsome might, but he never got the kind of portrayal that he deserved. Instead, the focus is usually given to the things he permeates this strength into.

Fans of the comics are probably familiar with this name because of the nefarious Crimson Gem. It was known for fabricating the iconic X-Men villain, Juggernaut.

Is Cyttorak The Main Villain Of Doctor Strange 2?

If this idea holds any ground, then Cyttorak plays a major villain in the Doctor Strange sequel. But is he to be held accountable for unleashing the Multiversal Chaos?

Chances are that he is. However, the film’s trailer has revealed many confusing storylines. So it is difficult to say for sure. It is possible that the villain appears for a brief period of time while the heroes traverse the universes or accidentally call upon him from the Darkhold.

That being said, if Cyttorak does not pose the biggest threat in the film, who else will? So far, all the hints draw us towards Scarlet Witch. Both the teasers have led us to several potential narratives that allow Wanda to go rogue.

However, fans still have a few months before the film answers all their questions. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will premiere in theaters worldwide on May 6, 2022.
