The question of how Daredevil will be connected to Hawkeye has created a lot of buzz among Marvel fans. Hawkeye is the newest Disney+ show of the year. With the release of a brand new trailer for Hawkeye, fans got their first look at what they can look forward to when the series premieres on the Disney+ streaming service. It features Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton and Hailee Steinfeld as Kate Bishop. On the show, the duo works together to take down the bad guys in this action show. The overall plot is still a mystery, but fans do know that Kate Bishop adopts the Ronin persona, which draws Clint’s attention—leading to their inevitable meeting.

Alaqua Cox’s character Echo makes an appearance in the trailer, albeit only for a brief time. She has yet to make her Disney+ debut. Nonetheless, a spinoff series starring the deaf superhero is already in development. The little amount of Echo seen in the teaser does, however, have a connection to another well-known Marvel superhero. It is none other than Daredevil himself.

Echo’s connection to Daredevil is evident at the get-go

Hawkeye’s recent teaser revealed an unsettling first look at Alaqua Cox’s Echo. For this reason, it is nothing but obvious for some Marvel fans to speculate a connection to Daredevil. As seen in the Netflix series Daredevil, there were numerous shots of Daredevil with red light blasting on him. This was intended to give tribute to his notoriety and signature look. Because of Echo’s relationship to Daredevil in the comics, it’s conceivable that Marvel Studios made this choice on purpose.

Of course, there might be more to it than just the same intense lighting. The red light on her face and that this is the world’s first official glimpse at Echo might imply something serious. In this case, one would imagine that the character has some anger she is attempting to work out. Possibly, her motives aren’t as noble as she claims. Could Clint and Kate find themselves on the wrong side of Echo’s wrath?

Check out the comparison made by fans that the actress took note of;

What do fans have to say about this possible connection?

The red lighting has brought about a big impact on fans’ thoughts and theories. It is without a doubt that this was obviously intended to come off as intimidating. After viewing the trailer, one fan shared on Twitter feels the teaser was a big hype. This is what they said;

Another fan tweeted their thoughts in Spanish. When translated in English here’s what the fan meant. “The best thing about the trailer of #Hawkeye was to see #Echo (Maya López) and know that Wilson Fisk will surely come with her (we trust that played by @vincentdonofrio). PD. Actress Alaqua Cox, who brings Echo to life, shared an emotional story before the trailer premiered.”

The Details say it all

There has been an unending stream of speculation that Charlie Cox will reprise his role as Matt Murdock in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Spider-Man: No Way Home is the first movie in which he is reported to feature. Echo has a significant link to Daredevil in the comics, as well as the mantle of Ronin, which fans will see in relation to Kate, Clint, and Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova.

The fact that Maya Lopez is the adoptive daughter of Wilson Fisk, nicknamed Kingpin in Marvel Comics, further cements her relationship with the eponymous blind vigilante. Interestingly, Vincent D’Onofrio, who rose to fame as Daredevil on Netflix, is also expected to return to the MCU in that same role.

There are several intriguing rumors and coincidences that lend credence to the rumors. Unfortunately, it looks like the answer will have to be kept a secret until the episode premieres on November 24th.
