Venom: Let There Be Carnage may bring Knull to the Marvel Cinematic Universe sooner rather than later. In Sony’s second Spider-Man film, Venom and Carnage go toe-to-toe in a battle for control of the Marvel Universe. While that was the case before its post-credits sequence and connection to the multiverse, it has since changed significantly. After Venom 2, the MCU may have a seed for the King in Black to be brought to life in a live-action film.

Knull’s Connection To Venom Revealed

At the very end of the sequel, there was a connection made between Venom and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While watching Venom: Let There Be Carnage’s end credits, Eddie Brock sees Tom Holland as Spider-Man on the television. As a result of this moment, Venom’s future now appears to be linked to the Marvel Cinematic Universe somehow.

However, Sony and Marvel Studios have not revealed how this will affect the future of the shared universe, although it is widely believed to be linked to the multiverse plot of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Several possibilities can arise when Venom joins the MCU, including introducing Knull.

Knull’s connection to Venom has been revealed in recent years in Marvel Comics, where he has appeared for the last few years. This is because Knull is the one who created symbiotes, including the Klyntar alien race that Venom belonged to. Venom’s existence in the MCU means that a similar link can be made in the canonical universe.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage’s ending and the tease of a symbiote hivemind could be part of Marvel Studios’ plan to introduce the King in Black into the MCU shortly. Because Knull is fully aware of Venom’s presence in the MCU and escapes the Abyss to find a new symbiote existence in this universe, this could be the case.

Knull’s Future As A Villain

After Venom: Let There Be Carnage, the MCU could introduce Knull in a variety of ways. There are many ways to build on this teaser and give symbiotes and Knull’s history in this universe a lasting legacy. Knull’s Necrosword is used by Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale) in the film Thor: Love and Thunder as a powerful tool of destruction. After a tease that he’s the one who mutilated the Celestial that became Knowhere, Knull’s MCU introduction could follow.

Trying to figure out when the King in Black will be a part of the MCU is far from clear. As the seeds for his introduction have only just been sown, behind-the-scenes plans may be forming for him at this point. As a result of Marvel and Sony’s relationship, his future is further complicated.

A Spider-Man and Venom-centric storyline would be Knull’s best future, but it isn’t clear whether Venom’s MCU status is long-term or a short-term quick fix to help bring Tom Holland’s Spider-Man to Sony. That means that Knull’s future could be an antihero in Venom: Let There Be Carnage’s sequel, a future Avengers film, or something else.
