Spider-Man: No Way Home will close out the story of MCU’s Spider-man in an epic fashion. But fans aren’t mourning the loss of Spidey yet. They are excited to see the movie.
After all, as per director Jon Watts, it’s supposed to be as big as Avengers: Endgame. As its December 17, 2021 release date grows near, fans are slowly getting bombarded with images, posters, and more details regarding the movie.
Recently, a couple of Empire magazine covers were released, and they helped increase the hype regarding the movie. The pics showed us exactly the villain that Tom Holland’s web-slinger will face in the film.
Leaked materials have also revealed at least one other suit that spidey will be wearing. Another area of interest for fans will surely be the cast list. We know that Tom Holland, Jacob Batalon, Zendaya, Marissa Tomei, and Jon Favreau are all set to return from the main cast.
Along with them, there will be Benedict Cumberbatch reprising his role as Doctor Strange. He will perhaps try to help Peter with his magic. Also, on the side of villains, we know that Alfred Molina will return as Doc Ock. And as he was seen in Sony’s Spider-Man 2, he will wield his massive metallic arms again.
However, what’s even more interesting is the rumored cast. From the previous two live-action iterations of Spider-Men on the big screen to notable villains from his rogues’ gallery, the cast list looks stacked.
But, we don’t know for sure how many of them will show up. Now, as if those levels of speculation weren’t enough, a new interview of tom Holland has been released, and it confirms the appearance of a mystery character.
Tom Holland sat down for an interview with the Empire Magazine and shared that he filmed one of the coolest scenes ever for the third movie in the MCU Spider-Man trilogy with a mystery character.
Empire says that the scene involved Holland’s Peter Parker, Happy Hogan, Aunt May, and an unnamed character. The group here is talking about what it’s like to be a superhero.
Here’s the full quote:
“It’s four people sitting at a table, having a conversation about what it’s like to be a superhero, and it was amazing. The other day we watched the scene, my brother and I, and our jaws were on the floor.”
Since the topic revolves around what it’s like to be a superhero, it’s easy to hazard a few guesses regarding who the character was that Peter and his family were talking to here.
The first two guesses are going to be Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Men. After all, these two characters know a lot about the challenges of being a superhero. After all, they are both Spider-Men themselves.
So who better for MCU Peter to talk to about superheroing than these two men who are basically multiverse versions of himself. Apart from them, Charlie Cox’s Daredevil does come to mind.
This is because Peter and co. could very well be getting legal advice from him. It has been long speculated that Daredevil/Matt Murdock could appear in No Way Home.
Even though Daredevil originally appeared in his own Netflix show, it has long been rumored that he will show up in the MCU. However, Charlie Cox has shot down these speculations and stated that he wouldn’t be in the movie.
Other characters Peter could talk to are Tom Hardy’s Venom and Thomas Haden Church’s Sandman. Also, it could be someone from his rogue’s gallery. These characters are not anyone’s first choice to have a conversation about what it feels like to be a superhero.
But right now, nothing is out of the realm of possibility. But no matter what, the confirmation of an unknown character being involved in at least one scene of this movie of epic proportions is enough to make the speculations run rampant.
But fans will know about the mystery character soon as Spider-Man: No Way Home arrives in theaters on December 17, 2021.
