Arguably, one of the best things about watching a Marvel movie is waiting for the post-credits scene to come on. These little scenes contains teases of what’s to come in future MCU films. Over the years, we have seen some great post-credit scenes. For example, Phil Coulson finding Thor’s Hammer in the desert at the end of Iron Man 2, Captain Marvel and Banner showing up at the end of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings are just two examples.

However, there have been some MCU projects in Phase 4 that have disappointed fans in this regard. So let us rank the 5 worst post-credit scenes in this phase.

5) Doctor Strange 2

The post-credit scene of Doctor Strange 2 introduced viewers to Clea and Stephen Strange getting his third-eye. But the problem with this was the poor CGI of the third-eye. It wasn’t composited well and came across as a sticker stuck to Strange’s forehead.

The other problem was that no one knew who Clea was. And it was impossible to guess just from that scene. So instead of building intrigue, audiences were just left scratching their heads and googling about what they just saw.

4) The Eternals

The post-credits scene of Eternals was Kit Harrington’s Dane Whitman taking out a wrapped-up sword while psyching himself up to use it to search for Sersi. Then, a voice floats in saying “Sure you’re ready for that, Mr Whitman?” and then the screen cuts to black.

We now know that the sword is the Ebony Blade and that Dane is going to eventually become the Black Knight. As for the voice, it was a tease for MCU’s vampire hunter, Blade. However, this scene left everyone confused rather than hyped in theaters since it was impossible to guess that it was Blade. But the second post-credits scene featuring Harry Styles as Eros more than made up for this disappointment.

3) Black Widow

In Black Widow’s post-credit scene we see Valentina Allegra de Fontaine tell Yelena that she knows who was responsible for killing her sister. Then she hands over a picture of Clint. Now, the movie wanted to tease a Yelena vs Clint Barton/ Hawkeye rivalry, but the setu felt way too dramatic. What’s worse is that the payoff on the Disney+ Hawkeye show felt washed out and not upto the mark too.

2) Spider-Man: No Way Home

No Way Home blew away audiences with its plot, cameos, and characterization. But as far as the post-credit scene goes, it was kind of meh. After all, there was no new short clip at the end that would tease something. Instead, we got the trailer for Doctor Strange 2. While the trailer did hype up audiences, but fans were disappointed that we didn’t a traditional post-credits scene.

1) Loki Season 1

The number one spot for the worst post-credit scene definitely belongs to Loki season one. This is because it just says season two is coming. A whole lot of fans were let down because the show didn’t tease anything regarding any upcoming show or even for the next season. It was just a title card saying season 2 was coming. And this was a massive disappointment.

Do you think any other post-credit scene from Phase 4 was the worst? Sound off below.
