A barrage of eight Russian missiles were fired at an airport in Vinnytsia in central Ukraine on Sunday. It was a civilian airport, and it was destroyed by missiles. Russia laid back to the occasion to say that they weren’t involved. Many cities and air bases in Ukraine have been bombed, shelled, or hit with ballistic missiles since Russia invaded.

Vinnytsia is in the western part of central Ukraine, far from the borders of Russia and Belarus. It is in an area that hasn’t had many strikes like this. Moscow calls the campaign it started on February 24 a “special military operation.” It says it doesn’t want to take over Ukraine, which was once part of the Soviet Union and under Moscow’s control but now wants to join NATO and the EU.

Vladimir Zelensky – President of Ukraine

Zelensky also asked for a no-fly zone to be set up over Ukraine to stop more Russian attacks. He said:

“Repeat this every day: close the sky above Ukraine. For all Russian missiles, “We’re right next to them”

He also pleaded that the United States to help them in this fight.

“We’re right next to all of their terrorists.”If you don’t give us at least planes so we can protect ourselves, there’s only one thing to say: You want us to die very slowly”

Vladimir Putin said on Saturday that if a third party said that Ukraine’s airspace should be closed, it would be seen as a hostile act by Russia. So far, the West has turned down Zelensky’s pleas because they don’t want to fight with Russia.
