Ukraine Officials Asks Joe Biden To Visit Kyiv Over NATO Summit Event

An official in Ukraine has asked President Joe Biden to come to Kyiv next week, saying that one should not be afraid to, if you are brave. He is President Volodymyr Zelensky’s top diplomat, Ihor Zhovka. He has asked the American commander-in-chief to visit Ukraine in person when he visits Brussels for an NATO summit next week. Zhovka has asked Biden to help Ukraine get its hands on U.S. weapons, which include fighter jets and missiles. In addition, the adviser slammed Ukraine’s allies, saying that Ukraine’s president is disappointed that the US and NATO haven’t agreed to a no-fly zone over its airspace.

In a CNN interview, Zhovka said that if NATO couldn’t provide a humanitarian no-fly zone, he asked for fighter jets and air defense systems. It will keep going on like this. He talked about this in the U.S. House of Representatives. He talks about this all the time. Biden, who hasn’t made a public decision on Zelensky’s request, was told this week that putting a no-fly zone in place would be an act of war. It isn’t clear how Biden will move forward. Zhovka also said that the leaders of three other countries have come to Kyiv and met with Zelensky.

When he was asked about this, he said:

“Well, you know, just this week, three prime ministers from three countries that are good friends of Ukraine came to Kyiv to meet with President Zelensky personally.”

Biden isn’t sure if he’ll go with Zhovka or Zelensky. This comes as Ukraine is set to get a new shipment of U.S. weapons in the next few days, including javelin and stinger missiles. ‘The weapons will be on our country’s land in the next few days. When Oleksiy Danilov, the head of Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council, spoke on TV on Saturday, the answer was clear:

“We are talking about days”

Ukraine’s allies have sent planeloads of weapons to help the country’s military fight back against the Russian invasion. Russia doesn’t like it wwhen NATO members send things to each other.

People in Ukraine and the West say that Russia’s invasion of Ukraine isn’t going very well because of Ukraine’s fierce resistance, bad planning, and low morale for Russian troops. There have been 7,000 Russian troops killed since the Russian invasion on February 24; including four generals. Between 14,000 and 21,000 troops have been injured in the fighting. More than 500 soldiers have been killed, but Moscow’s Defense Ministry says that less than 500 have been killed. Ukraine’s military has also lost a lot of people; and it’s likely that the number is much higher than 1,300.
