Every Spider-Man fan has been waiting to see these two iconic characters Venom and Spider-Man together on screen. With their famous rivalry, the face-off between them would be a massive treat to watch. Now, what if we tell you that Marvel and Sony are most likely in talks? They are trying to figure out a way to introduce Venom in the MCU through Spider-Man 4. This is considering that a new Spider-Man trilogy has already been revealed.

Summarizing all the rumors

Tom Hardy Ad Venom
Tom Hardy As Venom

Tom Hardy, who plays Venom, himself has previously talked about a crossover of his Venom with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in the MCU. He even went on to say that he would do anything to make it happen. Now, this collaboration has also been teased by Venom: Let there be Carnage post-credits scene and No way Home’s mid-credits scene. So, there is no question that it will happen sooner rather than later. Moreover, the sequel of the Spider-Man game created by Sony also features Venom as the primary antagonist. Kevin Feige said in 2019 that Spider-Man was the only Hero capable of crossing cinematic universes.

The credits scenes

We will give you a quick run down of the post credits and mid credits of Let there be Carnage and No Way Home respectively.
The final scene of the movie shows Eddy and Venom on a beach discussing how they would work as an antihero team. The post credits scene shows the two of them in a hotel room, probably near the beach that they were previously at, watching TV. This is when Venom talks about how vast the universe is. He also mentions 80 billion light years of hive knowledge across universes. Suddenly the hotel room warps and they are transported to the MCU universe. Venom with his insatiable hunger, points to Peter parker’s picture on the TV and licks it.

This scene establishes the fact that although Venom is in a different universe he is definitely a part of the larger Marvel multiverse. This way he can be introduced into the MCU. This scene gets quite quickly reversed in No Way Home. During the mid credits scene Eddie and venom were at a bar in the MCU getting to know about the universe they were in especially about Tony Stark and Thanos. Just as they decided to go talk to Peter Parker, Doctor Strange’s spell kicked in and sent them back. However a little bit of the symbiote was left behind in the MCU still alive.

The various possibilities of introducing Venom

J J Jameson of the Daily Bugle
J J Jameson of the Daily Bugle

Even if Marvel does not bring in Tom Hardy’s version of Venom they will definitely bring in some Venom.
Especially now that Peter needs to earn and look after himself chances are that he will look for a job at the Daily Bugle. J. K Simmons has already entered the MCU as J.J. Jameson. This could be where Peter Parker meets Eddie Brock, a rival reporter. In this situation Venom can develop his hatred towards Spidey and build up that rivalry. This will culminate in a battle for the ages between them two.

Another possibility that has been staring us in the face all this while is Michael Mando’s Mac Gargan. He was seen in the post credits scene of Spider-Man: Homecoming and nothing has happened of it till now. Mac Gargan became Venom due to an experiment funded by J.J. Jameson and thus goes after both him and Spider-Man. This would close off all the loose dangling threads quite neatly. This might also be the chance for Mac Gargan to get the spotlight he deserves by being the main villain of Spider-Man 4.
