We anticipated that the death of Wakanda’s defender and Namor’s entrance would be addressed in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. We were unaware of how many surprises the much-anticipated sequel would have. It also featured a surprise appearance from someone we weren’t expecting to see. In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, a prominent Marvel character makes a surprise appearance, but not in the way you might imagine.

Shuri Meets Killmonger

Shuri had hoped to see her recently deceased mother when she sipped the mixture she had created using her 3D-printed version of the flower. Shuri believed Queen Ramonda would offer advice. The Princess was astonished  to see who was waiting for her in the Wakandan council chamber. It was Erik Killmonger, the main antagonist of the first Black Panther film.

We were likewise taken aback. Why did Shuri’s cousin, who stole so much from her, her family, and her nation, meet her as she entered that holy dimension? mostly because she called him.

She had used the plant to take vengeance. Which made her arrival in Wakanda overlap with that of the most vengeful person to have ever been there. Thankfully, Shuri manages to resist Killmonger’s negative influence and decides to save Namor’s life, despite it being a difficult choice.

Shuri avoided Killmonger’s path by accepting who she really is and letting go of her hurt, wrath, and anger. Despite calling him to tell him what she wanted, she knew in her heart what she should do. She needed to emulate her brother, T’Challa, who defeated Killmonger.

This choice provided the best of both worlds for the fans. Not only did the current Black Panther protect countless lives, but Wakanda Forever also provided us with one more encounter with one of the MCU’s top villains, Michael B. Jordan’s Killmonger. He was just as alluring, strong, and threatening as before.
