The Mandalorian season 3 is yet to release and we don’t even have an official release date for it yet, but rumours are already swirling about season 4’s filming dates. And the word on the streets is that Din Djarin and Grogu could continue their adventures in early 2023.

The Mandalorian Season 4 To Begin Filming In 2023

The air is ripe with rumours about season 3 of The Mandalorian releasing in 22 February 2023 (as per Making Star Wars). And now as per Production Weekly, season 4 of the show could start shooting soon. Production Weekly’s latest issue states that production on the show could begin within the first three months of 2023.

If this is true, then The Mandalorian season 4 will probably film right when season 3 airs. However, the same outlet claimed in August 2022 that the show was going to start production on season 4 at the very end of September 2022. But that didn’t happen.

If we were to give the outlet the benefit of the doubt then it’s possible that pre-production had begun in late September or early October. And it’s only in 2023 that they are proceeding with full filming with the cast.

Why Is Season 4 Starting Production So Late? 

Season 3 of The Mandalorian wrapped a long time ago. As such, it’s surprising that season 4 is rumoured to begin shooting in 2023. But it’s possibly because Ahsoka and the Skeleton Crew show has been filming in the meantime in California at the Manhattan Beach Studios.

Ahsoka, starring Rosario Dawson as the titular character, is due to wrap this month and the Skeleton Crew will possibly wrap in December. And it is probably only then that The Mandalorian will get a shooting spot at the studio free. Know that Ahsoka, The Mandalorian season 3, and Skeleton Crew are all set to release in 2023, barring any changes.
