The Mandalorian season 3 is one of the most highly anticipated Star Wars shows right now. And even though Andor is breaking boundaries and setting new benchmarks, fans want their beloved Mando and Grogu back on the screens. And as per the news coming out of CCXP 2022, The Mandalorian season 3 will be released on March 1, 2023. So there are still a few months left before we rejoin the adventure again. And while we are waiting, let us go over some of the top theories for season 3:

1) Paz Vizsla As A Main Villain

Mando and Paz fought in season 2, where the latter challenged Din for the Darksaber. Din ultimately won that fight but only narrowly because Paz threatened to end his tribe, which consisted of him and Grogu. And this made Mando push past his weakness to defeat him.

So if Paz hadn’t taunted Din, the outcome could have been very different. Many feel that Paz realises it too. And that’s why he’s going to make another play for the Darksaber in season 3. Also, since he’s a descendant of Tarre Viszla, so he will definitely try to keep the Darksaber, and by extension, control over Mandalore to himself and his clan.

2) The Din And Bo-Katan Conflict

This is the most obvious theory. It has already been telegraphed that Din Djarin and Bo-Katan Kryze will lock horns over the ownership of the Darksaber. Even though Din offered her the saber in season 2, she refused it because she wanted to win it through combat.

The Armorer said that doom befell Mandalore because Bo-Katan had the Darksaber without winning it. So she is determined to do the right thing and win it fairly. And this will surely cause a rift between Mando and her. Maybe she will even be the overarching villain of this season? As for who will ultimately have the Darksaber at the end? That remains to be seen.

3) A United Mandalore

Over the two seasons, we have known about the various creeds of Mandalore. Some, like Din’s are too strict and don’t allow him to even remove his helmet. While others, like Bo-Katan, are more liberal in that aspect.

Director Rick Famuyiwa said that The Mandalorian season 3 will be a sort of conclusion of Mando’s arc. This has led many fans to interpret that he will be the new ruler of Mandalore (as he has the Darksaber). Also, they think that he will remove the old creeds and create one united Mandalore. After all, we have seen Din become more open to the traditions and ways of others.

4) Boba Fett Will Be In The Mandalorian Season 3

The Armorer said, “The songs of eons past foretold of the Mythosaur rising up to herald a new age of Mandalore”. And even though those are just tales now, the dialogue does foreshadow the Mythosaur coming back. We don’t know whether the actual beast will come alive again, but this little dialogue could hint at Boba Fett’s arrival.

Fans think that since Boba Fett already wears the sigil of the beast on his armor, so he will appear in season 3. And he will also play a pivotal role in uniting everyone on Mandalore to bring about a new age with Din.

5) Grogu Will Wield The Darksaber

This theory has been floating around for a while, and it states that Grogu will be the one to ultimately wield the Darksaber because, like Tarre Viszla, he’s a part of two worlds too. He’s A Mandalorian and a Jedi. And even though he chose to be with Mando over being with Luke, he still has control over the Force and Jedi skills.

With Mando now having the Darksaber, it’s clear that he will learn to connect and become one with the sword. And he will probably teach the same to Grogu. So it’s possible that over the course of the season, Grogu will know how to use the Darksaber and be the one to actually wield it when the time comes.

What do you think of these theories? Is there more you would like to add? Let us know.
