With the release of a new poster for the Multiverse of Madness, fans believe it contains a hint about Deadpool’s possible inclusion. There is plenty of room for Marvel heroes to be included in the multiverse project, including the Merc with a Mouth. However, it’s possible that Deadpool may not fit well in the Multiverse of Madness.

One of Marvel’s crudest and most violent characters, Deadpool is at odds with almost every other Disney figure. His meta fourth-wall breaks, in which he frequently pokes fun at popular culture and comic book films in general. Furthermore, it distinguishes him from his fellow MCU heroes.

Because of his R-rated persona, he has yet to be seen in the MCU. However, now that Moon Knight has made his MCU debut, Deadpool’s inclusion seems more likely. Fans believe Wade Wilson has finally been seen after Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld appeared to confirm the addition of Fox characters in the upcoming Doctor Strange film.

People are speculating about whether or not the new Multiverse of Madness poster features Deadpool. This speculation came about after a Twitter user posted a zoomed-in picture of the poster. Aside from the X-Men characters that the character has interacted with, the trailer for Doctor Strange 2 has only fueled speculation that Wade Wilson will make an appearance.

However, introducing Deadpool in Doctor Strange 2 could be a disaster, as Deadpool’s saga is very different from Doctor Strange’s high-stakes, horror-inflected, self-serious approach to the Marvel Universe. Wade Wilson’s inclusion in Multiverse of Madness runs the risk of detracting from its overall mood of foreboding.

Too Out Of Character For Deadpool

The MCU’s latest horror film, Multiverse of Madness, has been hailed as a continuation of Sam Raimi’s legacy. With the introduction of Evil Doctor Strange and Wanda’s apparent villain-arc, the trailers have had a sinister, serious tone. In order to heighten the tension between the two sorcerers, it’s possible that the inclusion of Deadpool and his jeering humor is a little out of character for the film’s overall tone and mood.

It’s a risky move for the MCU to place such an innately funny character in the middle of such a monumental and ambitious project. The inclusion of Raimi could dampen his vision of MCU horror. This could happen by placing Deadpool in an environment where he might not fit in well or thrive. This would be detrimental to both Multiverse of Madness and Deadpool. However, he could have a successful post-credits scene or replace Stan Lee’s beloved cameos. This in return would still create a lot of buzz for the character.

Like Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans are eagerly awaiting a dark standoff between characters in the Multiverse of Madness. In addition to the numerous rumors of cameo appearances, Charles Xavier’s presence in the film has been virtually confirmed. This further raises the bar for the film considerably. Doctor Strange’s Multiverse of Madness may not be an ideal setting for Deadpool. Nonetheless, he’s still an integral part of the MCU.
