It has been a year, and we all miss Baby Yoda. Sadly, season 3 of The Mandalorian probably won’t release until late 2022 at the earliest. And this is just pure speculation right now since nothing official about The Mandalorian’s release has been announced.
But while we wait for the show to come back, there’s a crossover brewing in The Book of Boba Fett.
Till now, The Book of Boba Fett has been a self-contained adventure. We have seen a ton of flashbacks set between season 1 of The Mandalorian and Return of the Jedi. The best part is that all of it has been set on the desert planet Tatooine.
For some, this might be a turn off because Tatooine is becoming boring for some. But if you stopped tuning in, then it might be time to catch up.
At the end of episode 4, our main bounty hunter discusses needing some help to take on his main enemy (till now) in the show- Pyke Syndicate. Then a tune we are all familiar with starts playing. It’s The Mandalorian theme by Ludwig Goransson.
He was the one who composed Boba Fett’s tune as well. But otherwise, the show’s music was composed by Joseph Shirley. So the message seems clear- Mando is indeed coming onboard the Boba Fett ship.
But whether he will bring Bo-Katan or Grogu with him, that remains to be seen.
Nothing concrete can be said for now. But Mando can’t be in two places at the same time. So if Pedro Pascal was busy filming one or more episodes of The Book of Boba Fett, then he wasn’t on set of season 3 of The Mandalorian for that period.
But then again, Mando’s situation is unique. Thanks to the perpetual helmet, a lot of Din Djarin’s scenes can be shot using body doubles. So Pedro Pascal doesn’t need to be on set all the time to film a Mando scene.
In this case, it might be possible for the character to be in two productions at the same time. However, even if traditional shooting concepts do work here, it just means that there will be a slightly longer wait for season 3 of The Mandalorian.
Last we heard, the show could return as early as fall 2022. But that’s a distant dream right now. At this rate, the show probably won’t premiere until late 2022 at best.
Plus, there are all the other Star Wars shows that will premiere on Disney+ before that as well. We ‘ve compiled all the rumored release dates for Mandalorian Season 3. And or, and more.
So if late 2022 turns out to be the release window, then we should be grateful. Because for now, we are getting a little bit extra from Mando now.
The Book of Boba Fett is streaming right now on Disney+.
