With the upcoming release of The Flash, DC Studios faces the risk of bad reception due to the notorious reputation of lead actor Ezra Miller. However, Production Designer Paul Austerberry claims he is not concerned about Miller’s past transgressions affecting the film’s reception. Austerberry believes that Miller’s portrayal of the titular character will impress fans to the point of forgetting his troubled history.
Miller’s History And Recovery
Miller has been the center of attention in multiple scandals, including charges of burglary and disorderly conduct. Despite this, DCU co-CEO James Gunn has praised The Flash as “one of the greatest superhero movies.” Tom Cruise also claimed the movie would save the superhero franchise.
DCU co-chief Peter Safran confirmed that they are committed to Miller’s recovery and that the troubled actor might even return as The Flash if recovery progresses. Miller has issued a public apology and begun seeking help for “complex mental health issues.”
