Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy 3 has been a long-anticipated project for moviegoers. The threequel was originally scheduled for release in 2020. Nonetheless, audiences will now have to wait until May 5, 2023, to catch their favorite band of misfits. When Peter Quill and Thor couldn’t agree on leadership at the end of Endgame, the crew was last seen on the big screen.

It was always a hoot to watch the chemistry between the two of them and the rest of the crew. Based on their personalities, the God of Thunder and the Guardians seemed like a match made in heaven. Fans are eager to see how Thor and the rest of the crew interact in the future. This of course, will be following the events of Infinity War and Endgame.

Chris Hemsworth’s solo outing, Thor: Love and Thunder, is the next time the group will be together. It may be a minor role, but at least it’ll be something. What about Vol. 3?? Is it still possible for audiences to take pleasure in their combined performance?

In the absence of information, one fan on Twitter has an idea for how to open 3 so that the hilarious dynamic between Chris Pratt and Liam Hemsworth can be shown off to the fullest extent possible. Even so, director James Gunn may have a different take on things.

The Guardians Dance-off

In response to a fan suggestion for the film’s opening, Guardians of the Galaxy 3 director James Gunn posted a response on his Twitter account.

Star lord Thor should “dance to Thunderstruck (AC/DC) for leadership of the Asgardians of the Galaxy” in the opening of Guardians Vol. 3, according to @DZevin7.

“It’s way way way too late,” Gunn admitted.

Even though they thought it was an “amazing idea or not,” another fan responded by asking if he agreed.

In response to their question, Gunn screamed, “I can say it does not.”

It’s possible that Marvel Comics director James Gunn was just saying this to make it sound like the film’s opening was always going to be that way, according to Twitter user @Meowdab.

“I promise you no,” the director simply said when asked if this was the case.

“Thunderstruck would have been released two years after Peter left Earth,” @AndrewGnash pointed out.

With that, Gunn put his foot down, declaring the fictitious dance-off was “still not going to happen” and countered by reminding everyone that Peter Quill has a Zune.

Thor and Star-Lord’s Dancing Duel Will Not Be Featured In This Volume

Many fans are still hoping to see more of Hemsworth and Pratt together. This, as well as the rest of the Guardians, despite the absurdity of their opening suggestion. This new golden and blue outfit, with its eye-catching helmet, might show up in Vol. 3 if Thor does appear. All of this is predicated on the God of Thunder being able to make it through the end of Love and Thunder unscathed.

According to the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy film, the team could use some assistance. They have Adam Warlock, the rumored main villain, High Evolutionary, and the Sovereign. If the Avengers don’t plan to cross over, it will be interesting to see how Gunn explains why the Guardians didn’t ask for help. A god is exactly what they’re looking for, it seems.
