Season 2 of The Witcher is almost here, and all the trailers released till now have indicated that it’s going to be a fantastic season. So we think that it’s time the show revealed Geralt’s biggest Witcher secret.

Now, season 1 was hyped up, and it delivered on that hype too. As a result, it was quickly renewed for season 2 even before season 1 was out. Finally, season 2 is here, and it’s time to deliver something more to meet and surpass fan expectations. And it can do that by revealing Geralt’s biggest secret.

What Is Geralt’s Biggest Witcher Secret?

In the show, Geralt travels throughout the land, searching for payment in return for killing dangerous monsters. He relies on a “Witcher’s Code” while choosing the kind of jobs he wants to take. Generally, he uses this code so that he can get out of working for free. After all, a code will be better accepted by strangers rather than just saying no. But the truth behind this code is one of the most closely guarded secrets of the white wolf.

In The Witcher book series, Geralt says that there’s no Witcher code. As in, it simply does not exist. It’s just something he came up with to avoid missions he didn’t want to go on, generally for moral reasons. So season 2 of the Netflix show should address this. After all, now he isn’t alone. He will be mentoring Ciri and be responsible for her. Also, Vesemir (Kim Bodnia), Geralt’s old mentor, will help too.

Vesemir Will Help Geralt Mentor Ciri

We saw Vesemir in the Road to Season 2 trailer when Ciri and Geralt arrived at Kaer Korben, the Witcher stronghold. It’s expected that he will be helping Geralt train Ciri as well. Vesemir was seen recently in the animated Netflix series The Witcher: The Nightmare of the Wolf. He was one of the few survivors of an attack on Kaer Morhen. And this made him in charge of training the next-gen of Witchers, which included Geralt.

So Vesemir was like a father to Geralt, and now it’s time for Geralt to become a father figure to young Ciri in season 2. In the first season, Ciri and Geralt met at the very end. Their eventual fated meeting began when Ciri’s homeland was attacked. As a result, the little princess had to flee in search of him. If that wasn’t enough, then her slowly growing powers made it clear that she needed someone who could help her control her abilities.

Even though her powers seem to be way more potent than that of a general magic user, but Geralt’s experience and knowledge will help guide her during season 2. But he probably won’t be alone while parenting or training Ciri. Vesemir will most likely help and mentor Ciri as well. As such, both of them might have to share secrets with her. And this might include the truth behind the famed Witcher code.

As such, season 2 is the perfect time for him to come clean about the truth behind the Witcher’s code. Now, even though the code might not be entirely accurate, Geralt follows a set of principles. Apart from not working for free, he also kills intelligent creatures who aren’t hurting others. So these moral rules will undoubtedly be something that Geralt teaches Ciri. But whether he will reveal the secret behind the Witcher’s code or not is something that remains to be seen.
