Following a significant setback, the original director, Bassam Tariq, left the project years after Mahershala Ali was confirmed as the new Blade for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans of The Character and Marvel Studios were understandably disappointed, as the remake was set to begin filming this month.

The Blade revival for the MCU may have its own production problems, but now that the search for its new director has been concluded, a positive development has emerged.

Filmmaker Yann Demange has reportedly been named the new director of the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Blade, which stars dual Oscar winner Mahershala Ali in the lead role. The script is currently being written by Michael Starrbury.

Due to the horror-based parts of the program, Yann Demange’s experience on HBO’s “Lovecraft Country” should be useful, and this would likely reflect into how he would approach the MCU’s Blade adaptation.

Mahershala Ali also has confidence in Starburry’s new approach to the role and the overall movie because he participated directly in the search for the movie’s writers.

Blade’s assurance that its scheduled release date of September 2024 will not change may be a sign that there won’t be any more postponements. This is in response to fan worries that Blade’s development problems may have an influence on the MCU’s 2023 film schedule.

There have been rumors that Blade could be the upcoming prequel film for the MCU. In recent years, Marvel Studios has grown more at ease with delving into the past. For a long time, Captain America: The First Avenger was the sole period piece film in the MCU, but Captain Marvel’s 1995 setting gave the MCU a fresh perspective while introducing Carol Danvers.

In numerous ways, Phase 4 has carried on the exploration of the past. Black Widow, which was fully based on the events of Captain America: The Civil War, altered how viewers perceived some of these events. To establish the Eternals’ relationship with Earth, their story took place over a period of 7,000 years. Blade is now thought of as a top contender to be the next MCU prequel as Marvel continues to expand on the past while moving the main storyline forward.

The release date of September 6, 2024, for Blade is still on schedule.

Before the reboot brings the superhero back from the dead, fans seem to still have more than enough time to stream the original Blade film and its sequels, as well as rewatch all of the Marvel films.
