Singer and actor Demi Lovato is set to make her directorial debut with “Child Star,” a documentary that will explore the highs and lows of growing up in the limelight. The feature-length film will include insights from several famous former child stars, including Lovato herself.

Lovato will co-direct the documentary with Nicola Marsh, and the project will be produced by OBB Pictures, DLG, and SB Projects. These companies have previously collaborated on Lovato’s critically acclaimed docuseries, “Dancing With the Devil,” which premiered at SXSW in 2021.

“Child Star” will be available for streaming exclusively on Hulu in 2024. The platform is owned by Disney, where Lovato began her career as a teen in the Disney Channel original movie “Camp Rock” and TV show “Sonny With a Chance.”
