Scarlett Johansson was reportedly insulted when her Avengers: Endgame co-star Brie Larson failed to remember their first meeting. The Avengers cast members have often spoken about their close relationships with each other, both on and off-screen, after years of filming together. Hence, it was a big deal for Johansson when Larson could not recall their first meeting.

Brie Larson Forgets How She Met Scarlett Johansson

The two actresses were on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, promoting Avengers: Endgame, and the host asked the cast members how they first met. Larson’s response that they texted each other prior to their meeting provoked disbelief in Johansson, who asked her how they met. Larson’s response was incorrect, and Johansson was surprised that Larson did not care much about their first meeting.

Larson tried to get out of the situation by saying she did not think much about their time together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) because she thought of herself as a “glorified extra.” Johansson corrected her, saying she noticed Larson and that she was not a glorified extra.

The actresses are close friends, but their first meeting was not on the MCU set. They actually met back in 2013 on the set of the rom-com Don Jon. Larson had a blast working with popular stars like Anne Hathaway, Tony Danze, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, which apparently caused her to completely forget that Johansson was also a part of the film.

While Larson’s forgetfulness was a humorous moment on the show, it left Johansson feeling insulted. Their first meeting was not on the MCU set but on the set of Don Jon. Despite the misunderstanding, the two actresses are close friends who have grown closer during their time in the MCU.
