The Fantastic Four will appear in the MCU as part of Marvel Phase 6, it has been confirmed. There haven’t been many official announcements up to this point, other than when and who would be directing the big-screen debut of Marvel’s first family. Numerous casting speculations are circulating, which is made more difficult by the fact that John Krasinski played Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.
Potential Cast
A 4chan user claims that Maddie Hasson and Alexandra Daddario are in the final negotiations to play Sue Storm. Tom Ellis, Penn Badgley and Rege-Jean Page have auditioned for Reed Richards. Matthew Daddario and Michael Provost are in final negotiations for Johhny Storm. Jason Biggs auditioned for The Thing but will be played by Sacha Baron.
The most popular fan choice for Reed Richards is John Krasinski, and this was expertly portrayed in the most recent Doctor Strange film. It’s unlikely that he will be cast again because he already portrays Richards in another universe, but we can all still hold out hope. We might get to see him in a directing role if he doesn’t show up in the MCU again as an actor.
Personally, I am very happy with the Actors whose names have been linked to Marvel’s First Family, especially Penn Badgley as Reed Richards would be a treat for the eyes, the man is extremely talented judging from his performance in Netflix’s You.
What Could The Plot Be?
Marvel hasn’t yet disclosed the Fantastic Four plotline, but Kevin Feige has said that it won’t be just another origin story. The group initially developed superpowers after being exposed to cosmic rays while on a research expedition to the moon, but this is not likely to be seen on screen again. This origin story is well known to many people. The fundamentals are understood by many. How can we use that to introduce something fresh to them? With regard to delivering that to the screen, we’ve set a very high bar for ourselves, Feige said at San Diego Comic-Con.
It makes perfect sense that Marvel would take a different tack with the upcoming film given that the origin story served as the foundation for the earlier adaptations. Additionally, the studio avoids using conventional plots in its MCU films. The Fantastic Four might go in a lot of different routes given that they made their debut back in 1961. Additionally, the new film has a good amount of potential antagonists, such as Namor, the Silver Surfer, Galactus, Doctor Doom, and KI’rt. Additionally, they had already encountered Ronan the Accuser, who was portrayed by Lee Pace in Captain Marvel and Guardians of the Galaxy.
The newest cinematic adaptation of the superhero team may be a few years away, but we do know a number of names involved. After Jon Watts, who most recently directed the MCU Spider-Man trilogy, left the project, Matt Shakman, who worked as the director on Disney+’s WandaVision, will take over as the movie’s director.
