There will be more characters from the Witcher universe introduced in season 2. Fans are hopeful that this will include the Wild Hunt, who has been hinted at in various ways. The Witcher is one among several fantasy realms with its own mythologies, and it’s one of the most well-known.

The Witcher is a collection of novels and short tales written by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski that became more famous after being converted into video games and a film and television series in Poland in 2001 and 2002. Thanks to Netflix’s 2019 release of an English dub, the show’s viewers may now look forward to the second season.

Recap To Season 1

The Witcher Wild Hunt

The Witcher season 1 featured a convoluted chronology following three characters in different locations and times. Their fates eventually converged towards the conclusion of the season. As a result, the show was a big success with Netflix fans. In this storyline, the main protagonists are Geralt of Rivia, a strong monster slayer, Yennefer of Vengerberg, a powerful sorceress, and Ciri, the crown princess of Cintra with her own special abilities. Due to a large number of characters and creatures in The Witcher’s universe, season 1 was unable to introduce them all. However, season 2 will do so, as well as introduce the Wild Hunt.

Despite the fact that the Wild Hunt has yet to appear in either the teaser or the first full trailer for The Witcher season 2, many are certain that they will. As a result of a set picture leak in March 2021, five highly armored soldiers riding what seems to be Wild Hunt-style horses have appeared online. According to Redanian Intelligence, their sources have verified that the images depict the Wild Hunt, but nothing can be confirmed for sure until it is presented in a teaser or on the show, as is always the case. In Season 1, there was speculation about the arrival of the Wild Hunt. The rumor was particularly in relation to Yennefer’s disappearance at the conclusion of the season. That speculation may no longer be valid.

The Introduction of The Wild Hunt

Sword of Destiny mentions the Wild Hunt. Further on Time of Contempt introduces them for the first time. Although the Wild Hunt is most recognized for its debut in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. When fans think of the Wild Hunt, they picture a group of specters galloping across the skies. However, they are really a band of Aen Elle elves known as the Wraiths of Mörhogg. These elves also call themselves the Dearg Ruadhri aka Red Riders. They’re on a mission to locate and seize slaves from other worlds.

In doing so, they’ve set their sights on Ciri because of her Elder Blood. People believe the Wild Hunt are specters who gallop across the sky because they wear skeleton armor, ride black horses, and utilize projections to make themselves seem ghostly to onlookers. For detecting Ciri’s Elder Blood, they began coming after her. This explains why The Witcher season 2’s debut of the Wild Hunt makes sense.

When Yennefer vanished, speculation swirled that she had been captured by the Wild Hunt. However, the first trailer showed that she was recovered by the Nilfgaardian army, dispelling that theory. There are some elements in the set photos that look like members of the Wild Hunt. If they do appear in The Witcher season 2, they won’t be a one-episode character like many in season 1 were. Hopefully, they’ll have a proper storyline so those who aren’t familiar with the books and games.
