Following the recent announcement that Matt Shakman of WandaVision would be directing the upcoming Fantastic Four movie, fans have been anxiously anticipating announcements on the Fantastic Four’s casting. Many anticipated that the revelation would be made during San Diego Comic-Con and the following D23 Expo, but months later, nothing has happened.

Since his recent appearance as an Earth-838 variant of the character in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, The Office actor John Krasinski has been the fan favourite to play Reed Richards in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. But as a result of numerous remarks and reports, it now seems like Marvel Studios will take a different course.

Penn Badgley, who plays Joe Goldberg in Netflix’s You, has been mentioned in numerous casting speculations, with the most of them focusing on Reed Richards; more lately, Tom Ellis from Lucifer has entered the conversation. An unexpected name has now been added to the mix.

According to rumors, Adam Driver of Star Wars met with Marvel Studios last summer to discuss playing Reed Richards in the Fantastic Four. Additionally, according to reports, Driver was once considered for the part of Doctor Doom in the MCU.

After playing Kylo Ren in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, the 38-year-old star took a little pause from Hollywood blockbusters, but he has managed to establish a fine career and received a second Academy Award nomination for his work in A Marriage Story.

Although the report doesn’t link Driver to a particular role, ideas instantly jump to Driver as Reed Richards or Victor Von Doom. Doom and Mr. Fantastic might be the biggest roles in the studio’s history. Despite the fact that there is a lot of interest in who Marvel will cast as the First Family, Doom is one of Marvel’s richest and most complicated characters and should play a significant part in the MCU’s upcoming ten years.

Naturally, there’s no reason to become overly attached to anyone linked with the character of Reed or any other until there is some actual announcement from Marvel Studios. Because they often take their time, Marvel Studios, led by renowned casting director Sarah Finn, has rarely missed on these kinds of crucial castings. Because filming on Fantastic Four is not expected to begin until the second half of 2023, casting announcements should be made by early 2023.
