The MCU has explored a few mystical objects over the course of the Thor and Doctor Strange movies. However, there are many more interesting ones that the MCU can explore further. Here are 12 of them.
1. Casket of Ancient Winters
The MCU has already explored this one a bit during Thor. It was in possession of the Jotuns and was later retrieved by Odin and put in the vault. It has the power of creating extremely strong winter storms that can freeze over landscapes and weaken even the toughest Frost Giants.
2. Bloodaxe
The Bloodaxe is the weapon of the executioner. His evil affected the axe and put a curse on it. By the curse, anyone using the axe turns into a bloodlust-driven killer. Skurge has been introduced in the MCU during Thor: Ragnarok. The blood axe also allows its user to teleport.
3. Crimson Bands of Cyttorak
In the MCU, this was seen during Doctor Strange when Strange used it to capture Kaecillius. It can also be wielded by Scarlet Witch. The red bands of Cyttorak are indestructible and strong enough to hold back even Hulk and Juggernaut. Doctor Strange also used a spell to summon the Crimson Bands and bind Thanos’ arms during the fight on Titan in Endgame.
4. Golden Apples of Idunn
Have you wondered how the Asgardians live such long and healthy lives in the MCU? Well, its because of the Golden Apples of Idunn. These apples grow on a tree located in Valhalla that is Asgardian heaven. They give the Asgardians their youth and immortality.
5. Shadow Cloaks
The Shadow Cloaks are an extremely intriguing relic which allow the user to teleport. They are dimensional warping capes that can open magic portals. They ideally work as sling rings of the MCU but sound even cooler. In fact, the cloak can also be controlled mentally. Eventually they landed in S.H.I.E.L.D. under Nick Fury.
6. Clock of the Ages
This magical relic allows the user to time travel to any point in time and also allows them a return trip back home. It would be interesting to see what would happen in the MCU if time travel was to become this easy.
7. Shield of Endless Misery
The Shield of Misery is exactly as it sounds. It can make people see horrific and terrifying visions of the future. This is essentially used to distract one’s opponent to deliver the final blow and defeat them. Its usage in the MCU would be pretty interesting to see, especially as they have been exploring a darker side lately.
8. Spear of Destiny
The Spear of Destiny is an extremely powerful magical object that gives the user control over the fate of the world. It was acquired by Adolf Hitler during the second world war. This prompted the allied forces to send Captain America and his soldiers to retrieve it.
9. Pillow of Life and Death
Since the MCU loves bringing characters back from the dead, this would be a great way to do that. This pillow has the power to heal and even give back life. It has control over both life and death. However, if touched by evil, the pillow can also kill. While when touched by those who are deemed worthy, the pillow can also grant immortality.
10. Warlock’s eye
The Warlock’s eye can cast spells that control people’s minds and manipulate them. Only the very powerful such as Thor, Odin and The Warriors Three have ever been able to resist its powers. It was once stored in Odin’s vault. In the MCU, it has been seen in the Collector’s Museum during Guardians of the Galaxy.
11. Twilight Well
The twilight well is located on the edge of the world. It has a very interesting use. It is kind of like the Pensieve (only Harry Potter fans will get the reference) of the MCU. The water of the well can stimulate memories, predict distant events and even show different possible futures. It was once used by Thor himself.
12. Ropes of the Xiand Nomads
These ropes also help in teleportation. They are blue colored magical ropes that help open portals into various dimensions. They have been used by Doctor Strange before in Marvel comics. I reckon it would be cinematically very pleasing to watch these blue ropes be used for teleportation in the MCU.
