Marvel has a full slate of Disney+ shows planned for the year 2022. And among them, Moon Knight is what fans are the most excited about. Oscar Isaac is leading the series as the main hero. Accompanying him are some of industry’s remarkable actors namely Ethan Hawke, May Calamawy, Loic Mabanza, and Jean-Paul DuChamp. Moon Knight will tell the story of Marc Spector. Previously Spector was a mercenary. But after an unfortunate incident, he becomes a hero with the help of abilities gained from the Egyptian God, Khonshu.
We are aware of the Moon Knight’s primary origin because of the comics. However, the exact plot of the project and how it will develops is yet to be revealed. As a matter of fact, details about all the cast members and their confirmed characters are still under a cloak and dagger situation.
Above that, fans are hoping that Moon Knight will lay its focus on Marc Spector’s dissociative identity disorder.
Marvel and Disney have not started promoting Moon Knight with an active enthusiasm yet. However, a special teaser for the series was released during Disney+ Day. On top of that, actor Oscar Isaac expressed his feelings about working on the show. He said that “it was the biggest workload I’ve ever had,” but “even yet, I couldn’t wait to get set and work.”
Sitting on the directors’ chair of the upcoming MCU series are Justin Benson, Aaron Moorhead, and Mohamed Diab. Moreover, a new rumor hints at a certain actor-turned-director pitching in the development by joining the behind-the-scenes crew of Moon Knight.
Is George Clooney Making An MCU Debut?
Only recently, an interesting information surfaced on the internet through The Cosmic Circus. The rumor suggests that Academy Award-winning actor George Clooney is directing an episode of Moon Knight for Marvel Studios.
This evidence is supported to be true by Moon Knight assistant art director Marco Torresin. The Marvel Studios crew member posted a bunch of updates on his website. And among them, one states some facts about the MCU series.
On the said post, Torresin uploaded a picture portraying his role for Moon Knight. The image included a structured overview of other crew members as well. According to the details visible in the image, George Clooney is one of the directors. Indeed, this suggest that the well-acclaimed actor will make his Marvel debut by staying behind the screen.

George Clooney Could Have An Excellent Potential In The MCU
Now, with this current update, we are certain that Clooney has a major hand in creating Moon Knight.
Besides, Clooney has never just been regarded as an award-winning actor in Hollywood. The star is a veteran and has helmed the director’s position before too. He is known for his work in several projects, such as 2017’s Suburbicon and 2020’s The Midnight Sky.
Not to forget, Clooney has worked with Oscar Isaac in Suburbicon too. The two actors already have the foundation of a work relationship. This prior connection will only prove to be favorable. Yet, we can imagine how easygoing and free, the course of action will be on the sets of Moon Knight.
Moreover, only time will tell if Clooney will take over the role of some character in the Marvel series. For now, we have grounds to believe that the actor’s involvement in direction will act as a profitable way to make a debut. And perhaps work in favor for a potential on-screen appearance in the future.
Lastly, if Marvel Studios plans on assigning a role to Clooney within the premises of Moon Knight, it would be fitting to see the actor posing as the Egyptian God, Khonshu. After all, the character is key to understanding how Moon Knight came to be of existence. And Clooney picking up the works for the mythological entity would be appropriate.
On the other hand, Marvel Studios is constantly working towards making Phase 4 more elaborate and spectacular. And in order to broaden its horizons, tapping an award-winning actor like Clooney will be profitable in the future.
